With Thanksgiving less than a week away, Connecticut Food Bank (CFB) is asking the public for help. The Food Bank, in the midst of its "Thanksgiving for All 2008" campaign, is estimating that its annual holiday food drive may fall about 1,500 turkeys short of its goal this year.

The North Haven Police Department announced they are joining hundreds of other law enforcement agencies across the country in renewing a pledge to save lives by intensifying efforts to enforce seat belt laws among all motorists and around the clock during the 2008 Click It or Ticket mobilization, which runs Monday, Nov. 17, to Sunday, Nov. 30.

On Sunday, Nov. 9, members of the North Haven American Legion Post Number 76, war veterans and those who came to pay their respects met in front of the World War II Memorial on the town green.
Louis DelGuidice, 87, who served in the Air Force during World War II, talked about his experience.

Thanks to the efforts of the town's Citizen's Advisory Panel, cleanup of a contaminated area may finally be moving forward after decades of effort. The panel has been closely following progress at the Pharmacia & Upjohn Company LLC Site at 41 Stiles Lane, owned by Pfizer Inc.

Steve Fontana was re-elected as state representative for a seventh term on Tuesday night, prevailing over Republican challenger Veronica Kivela. The more experienced Fontana won by a comfortable margin over Kivela, who was a newcomer to politics. He captured 7,898 votes to Kivela's 4,836.
