The Board of Education held an emergency meeting Sept. 6 to discuss the scheduled use of the North Haven High School auditorium by the Committee to Elect Michael Freda. As it stands, Freda’s committee will be allowed to use the auditorium.

The Sept. 3 Board of Selectmen meeting touched on many concerns, including a photograph of Selectman Michael Freda, Leigh Gomez, solar panels, milling and paving costs, Freda’s Web site, Lexington Gardens, and the town pool.

The July 30 Board of Selectmen meeting turned raucous as town officials and residents aired concerns regarding a July 1 Department of Public Works memo.

As one legal matter facing North Haven quickly nears its court date, another is still in the early stages and eliciting sentiments from local politicians.

Michael J. Freda, who has served as North Haven's minority member of the Board of Selectmen, announced today that he is a candidate for the office of First Selectman in the general election of November 2009. Freda is expected to be endorsed by the Republican Town Committee at its convention to be held in July.
