The Indians built up a 5-1 lead on the Shelton Gaels with timely hitting and the strong pitching of Elvin Rodriguez, who went five strong innings before tiring in the sixth.
The Gaels chipped away at the Indians' lead and through five innings were trailing 5-3, but started the sixth with a walk and a couple of base hits. Shelton jumped all over relief pitchers Kevin Fuggi and Steve Cusano to bloat their lead to 13-5 over the next two innings, and held on for a 13-6 win.
