North Haven High School football bows to Daniel Hand, 21-6
North Haven won the toss and deferred their choice to the second half.
The Tigers chose to receive, but after a good kick return, had to punt it back to the Indians.
On their first play, North Haven's Ryan Criscio took a direct snap and handed off to Kendrick Amaker who took off through the line for a 67 yard touchdown run.
The extra point kick was missed, so the Indians led 6-0.
The two teams battled back and forth and after several punts, the Tigers gained favorable field position, and ultimately scored a touchdown on a short drive that ended with a short flip from Nick Merullo.
Enzo Pagliarulo kicked the extra point to give Hand a 7-6 lead which they took into halftime.
The game remained close until late in the 3rd quarter when A.J. Hill intercepted a Joe Schwab pass and the Tigers took over at midfield.
Hand turned that into 7 points when Merullo hit Chad Crisco with a 12 yard TD pass in the back corner and then scored a third touchdown late in the fourth quarter after a gallant Indian goal line stand succumbed to a short 4th down dive over the line by Merullo to close out the scoring at 21-6.
